Wilton House

A Tudor house with later additions on the site of Wilton Abbey, some of which is under the house. At one point there is a small window into the basement with a mirror to show sections of the pillars.
No photos in the house. Contents include a substantial collection of classical marbles (many from the 14th Earl of Arundel’s collection) and a lot of art. Loads of van Dyke, some Reubens, Lely, Tintoretto, Bruegel winter scenes. A Rembrandt portrait of his mother. Untypical picture of an older lady with glasses bent over a book… not my photo! I downloaded from the internet.
