Wimborne Minster

Wimborne Minster… Wow…
Founded in 705AD as a double monastery. The first Abbess was Cuthburga, sister of King Ina of the West Saxons. The existing 12th century building is dedicated to St Cuthberga.
12th century Norman Arches and pillars, medieval mural and stained glass of the four saints of Wessex. Beaufort tomb of Margaret’s parents, lots of graffiti and the Beaufort window. Margaret founded a school here.
There’s also a Jesse window pane from Ghent, imported without assembly instructions. Fabulous 12th century corbel of Moses and a chained library.
